Name Jessica HewittAbout Jessica Hewitt is a visual arts major focusing primarily on painting and drawing at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. In 2007, Jessica started to familiarize herself with the concept of representing the fragility of all living creatures, but in a peculiar way. Drawing cats was the first step for Jessica to fully commit to the theme, until she started to take interest in combining her love of animals with the human figure. With mixed media, she began to compose drawings in a surreal manner, as well as experimenting with color and composition. Jessica's growing passion for pastels cemented the desire to combine the human figure with living, as well as non-living. entities. The presence of hybrids and mortality can also be found in Jessica's paintings. Only having started oil painting in 2009, it has proven to be a wonderful learning experience. In the near future, Jessica would love to continue integrating the fragility of her hybrids, particularly in painting and sculpture. Moreover, she hopes to take it on a whole new creative level. |
